Nature center

Today we went exploring at the Lake Erie nature center.
It was pretty fun
Delaney posing like a astronaut
Joshie
Climbing in a big log
A goose
Hiking on the trail
Kyle is more into checking out what everyone else  is doing rather than looking at the camera
Josh was very excited about the eagle. Delaney informed me that they went all the way to America, where we use to live and brought the eagle back. So we still need to work on geography a bit :-)

A map of the depth of the lake

Over all it was fun, we finished the night off with swim lessons, it felt more like swimming in oregon than the hot mid- west but the kids enjoyed it:-)
Good night for now!

That looks a bit more like home :-)

Today Wade finished a very special project after we got home from church. He finished the swing set! It was a happy day in the Heath household. Those of you who know Josh and know how much he loved to swing on our swing set in Brookings, will understand the joy that this little boy had today when his Daddy got the swings hung. I knew it was done when I could here airplane noises coming from the back yard.
My happy boys
Everyone having fun
A new addition to this swing set is a rope to climb, Wade and I joked that Delaney would be the first up it, and she was, it took her less than 5 minutes to figure it out.
Josh enjoyed pulling Kyle around in the wagon while I mowed the lawn today.
Yesterday Lucy and I worked on the tree in the girls room, it is turning out pretty cute :-)
Friday night we had friends over for dinner and we took them for a walk by the lake.
Over all it has been a pretty good weekend enjoying our new home.

Exploring

Today the kids and I took advantage of the cooler weather and went exploring. We have some nice wooded trails very close to our house so we walked over and checked them out.
On the way home the library is right on the way so we stopped in and checked out some books, we also hung out at Discovery works, which is in our library but is is like a children's museum. It has all kinds of fun things for the kids to check out and do
Kyle likes the tunnel
Josh
He went over to the big kid side and played checkers
Lucy

Delaney and Lucy talked back and forth on the pipes
Playing with the gears
Playing music
Building ( don't mind the crazy hair)

It has been a nice day. Kyle is tolerating being  wrapped a lot of the day and wearing his garment at night. His swelling goes down a lot but he "refills" quickly when he does not have something on.
Tonight we have swim lessons so I better go get dinner going.

8 years old!!!!

Today my oldest baby turned 8! How did that happen, wasn't just yesterday he looked like this....
I think I held him most of the day, the day he made me a Mama
So we celebrated Josh today. It started with going in to the hospital for PT for Kyle, then we got a big surprise with Wade getting to come home early today( he was on duty all weekend). In the evening Josh had swim lessons and the rest of us went swimming too.  It was rainy today and we had to pool completely to ourselves besides the swim lessons it was really weird to be the only ones in the huge pool. And it was still warmer than most days swimming in the Brookings pool :-)
Here's Kyle all relaxed and wrapped in his seat. He found Josh's googles and thought he should wear them :-)

After swimming Josh picked to eat out and Red Robin
They sang him a birthday song:-)

And He wanted ice cream at Mitchell's
After ice cream we came home and they caught lightning bugs

Then everyone headed to bed, it was a fun long day, all we can hope is they will all sleep in tomorrow :-)
And today we got Kyle's compression jacket back in the mail. Seems to fit better and it is easier to get on.
Compression jacket 2.0
Happy birthday Joshy!

A few pictures of the trip that were missed

Looking thru photos a realized that a few of our fun days got missed so I will give you so of the highlights
We hit the Omaha zoo in Nebraska for a few hours on our way thru. It was pretty fun, it claims to be the top zoo in the states, I would say it gives the San Diego zoo a run for its money, but not sure it is better, they are both cool in different ways, very different.
Don't mind the 5th kid we did not pick up an extra, I guess we just looked cool to pose with.
Watching a donkey
Brushing the goats
Delaney is totally loving all the goats to pet
Kyle and Wade checking out the prairie dogs
They were everywhere

My boxcar children and Nanny
We're still kicking 3+ weeks into our journey
Every cool zoo has to have a bronze rhino
My Mama, Kyle and I
My kids and their Nanny
It was a fun stop hopefully I can get these to upload tomorrow on our trip to the library :-)
Wade reported today (July 1) to his new station, and Mom flew home, so it was a pretty emotional day :-(. On an exciting note for those of you who saw us this trip, and saw how close Kyle was to walking you will be excited to know we now have a walker. He has been taking steps the last two weeks and the distances are getting longer we are up to 6 + steps if he stays focused, which is not very often because it get so excited with himself walking he falls over :-)
