ONE is FUN!!!!!

My little baby is growing up.........
Yesterday Kyle woke up and he had wings
Wade has been encouraging me to cut Kyle's hair, and I do have to admit it was getting a little out of control, soo I broke out the clippers and Kyle got his first haircut.
He sat pretty,  fairly kind of still.
He had a lot of hair!
My handsome boy after his haircut

Today Kyle turned one! I once heard a talk on how good things were not easy and easy things were not good, Well this last year has not been easy, but it has been SO GOOD! God has been so good to us, and thru pain and trials we have a beautiful, thriving one year old boy. I have seen God's hand at work in our family and just bless His name for everything he has given and done for us!
Today I made a almost fat free, gluten free cake and frosting for my birthday boy.
He kept looking at it and shaking his head "no" , I don't think he thought he was suppose to have it, but with a little encouragement he dug right in!

Then it was off to the bathtub with Nanny
And he was ready for bed, being one is hard stuff and it tires a boy out!

A birthday and trip to Portland

So way back about a week and a half ago we celebrated Wade's birthday, he wanted brownies.
 Wade and his brood
 Brownies and ice cream
Port Orford at sunset, I love that place
We went over to Hood River while we were up in Portland for Kyle, we caught the fruit trees in bloom, which was one of my favorite times of year when we lived there
We got two gorgeous days with full mountain views!
I am really going to miss the mountains, I have heard rumors that Ohio is a little flatter than Oregon
Stopped by and look at my old house
We got to see Jake our nephew while we were in Portland

The kids had fun trudging through the grass, Delaney is my little mommy she took her little cousin by the hand and lead him all over
Saying good bye to the White's

We needed to go to Portland to get Kyle fitted for compression garments to wear at night to help with his arm swelling, the fitting went well so we hope to have them in the next few weeks. When we get them I will post pictures, I am sure he will look soo cute. We had to go to a place called "Just like a woman" to get them fitted. They specialize in custom undergarments, Kyle really like all the attention he got from all the ladies, and they all thought he was adorable.

Times are a changing...

So we have been busy making plans and changing plans, painting walls and sorting and purging stuff. The picture above is in Josh's room before Wade and he painted over his boat. I have one of him 4 years ago next to it too, right after we moved in and I painted it. I can't find it right now but I will keep looking.
I think I am starting to get sentimental over our move, I look at the scenery different when we drive, I cherish times with friends, I am just trying to soak it all in before for we uproot and change everything.
Other than that life still goes on :) about a a week and half ago Delaney gave herself a haircut (with the help of her brother) it was bad, this picture does not do it justice, I think I heard the hairdresser use the word "mullet" in describing it. So she got a new do.
I think it makes her look too grown up, but it is cute :)
We went to the beach today with good friends, it was sunny and a little windy but we found a nice spot and the kids had a great time, and I had a great time hanging out and having a time of fellowship with a friend.
The girls played and made sand angels on the beach with their friend
 Kyle did a little yoga
 Chatted with his friend
and sampled a little sand. The car is filled with sand and I have sand tracked across the floors, so I would say it was a successful day at the beach!

Easter Celebrations

We had a busy and fun weekend celebrating Easter. Saturday morning we started off with bunny pancakes, yum!

Then later that afternoon we iced sugar cookies, Lucy piled the frosting on.

Josh is a good decorator

 Some of the finished product

Dad even got in on some of the icing action
Later we took the kids and "egged" a few friends, it was fun to see them hide the eggs and then scream and laugh running back to the car after we rang the door bell

Saturday night we had an egg hunt in the back yard, Dad went out and hid the eggs while we were gone. The kids had a blast searching for eggs. We sat Kyle down by some eggs and he had a great time checking them out.

 My cute Easter kids

 The six of us :)
Papa and Nanny and 4/6 of the grandkids
My Easter dinner had an animal theme, the kids liked the hard boiled egg chicks (a little morbid, but cute)

 My cute kids before church
Easter baskets in the afternoon where very exciting!
 The girls got jewelry boxes
The boys checking out "boy stuff"
Hope you all had a very Happy Easter, and got to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus with friends or family. We had a great weekend. We are so blessed with all we have been given. Kyle is doing well he had a double ear infection two weeks ago that we opted to let him fight on his own with out the help of antibiotics and at his recheck today his ears were doing much better, they still had fluid, but did not look infected, so we are praising God that his immune system is working and fighting illnesses off in his body. Another praise we have with Kyle is that he is starting to enjoy more textures with food and is not gagging so much when he eats. He is eating and drinking and growing and we are sooooo happy! He is also cruising along the furniture like crazy and has figured out that he can also climb. Kyle's favorite thing to climb lately is the kids rocking chair, then he stands and rocks backwards, yes we put a stop to this quickly. But it is still good to see him doing things like that and learning about his world.
