Home and doing well

Josh is home and despite some early pain issues he is doing well,he has been resting, listening to a book on CD and watching a movie. He just got up and has been building a new Lego set :-)
We go in for a follow up in the morning.
Thank you for praying :-)

Heading to surgery

We are having an early morning. Right now we are waiting for Josh to head into surgery to have a revision on his eye surgery. Grandpa and Grandma Heath are visiting so we left them with the other 3 kiddos. He said he was going to dream about driving a security cutter across the Pacific Ocean. I will update when he is out.

Updates

This week the kids and I have been doing vacation bible school at our church, this whole week is on "trusting God" and I think it is probably way more for me than the kids.
It has been a faith testing month, or so, and I am constantly reminded that I/we need to trust him in all that is going on, even when it all just seems out of control.
After leaving messages and playing phone tag for a week in a half I finally spoke with Kyle's vascular doctor regarding his test results from the lymphancentography. They rate things on a scale of 0-45, 0 being totally normal and 45 the worse. He said Kyle scored a 45 in his upper body, the tracers never even left his hands in the 2 hours+ that they were watching. This was somewhat what we expected, but were hoping for some function. But the surprise was that he also has moderate lymphedema in his left leg and mild in his right, even though they are not showing swelling at this time. He said with that we will just wait and see, but ended saying it is everywhere in his little body. His little lymphatic system just did not develop the way it was suppose too. We go see him the end of July, but really right now we just keep doing what we are doing, garments during the day, massage and wrapping at night, and trying to get to the pool as much as possible, and most of all trying to trust God that he has a plan in all of this, that he knit Kyle together and knows him best of anyone, and loves him even more than we do, which is hardest to fathom.
Josh is having his eye surgery Monday, we will find out what time on Friday. This is the same eye surgery he had at 4, to realign muscles, but 10-20% have to be revised and  he fell in that percentage. He seems to be doing ok with it, he is very bummed he will not be able to swim for 3 weeks after. It will be an out patient procedure at the main campus downtown.
The house is still all torn apart, and our room/ bathroom sealed off. We are trying to get something going but everyone wants someone else to start. We are trying to get the "chemist" to come out and tell us the extent and what kind of mold we are dealing with, then they come up with a plan for the mold remediation company and the water damage company. But on top of that we are coordinating with a roofing company to come and take care of the roof first. We need a whole new roof. We got our first quote on the roof the other day, but are waiting for another before we decide which company to use (our insurance company is saying the roof is not storm related just was not put on right in the first place. So that is all ours to deal with). I am very ready to just have that all done and dealt with.
Wade has been working on a fence around our yard and it is coming together. He got all the posts up the other day! I am very excited about the fence, hopefully it will keep deer out of my garden, and kids in the yard, and let the dogs run more too!
Talking about gardens and kids here are some pictures of our week.

That is all for tonight, thanks for checking in on us :-)

Duck tape, strawberries, garments (that fit!) and a new bike!

What a Saturday! The kids and I headed out this morning to a neighboring town to see the Duck tape festival and watch the parade with some friends.

Everyone is soooo ready to say cheese
They had amazing floats all made out of Duck tape.
The theme was out of this world, or something like that, so there were lots of aliens and ET and that sort of things.
It was fun to see all the things, clothes, art, that people make out of duck tape. The factory is here right by us so this is a very big deal to the community.
Then we went and picked more strawberries :-)
My picking partner was on my back, I think I have strawberry juice all over my neck and down my back from him sharing. He was so excited to ride the tractor out to the fields, and told me every time it did it's loop.
Now we are washing and preping berries to be eaten, frozen and made in to jam! I have good helpers.
When we got home from berry picking Kyle had garments waiting in the mail box! We got the gloves on before he went down for a nap, but I really need to wrap  him and get him down tonight to get the sleeves to fit, he has been unwrapped all morning.
Then this evening we were invited to the Elk's club where Kyle was given a tricycle that he peddles with his arms. So he is using his upper body to help those lymphatics. Kyle's therapist ( who is wonderful!) worked with them to get him the right one and it fits great and he LOVES it:-)
Wade got to go with us, which was very nice.
And now the kids are in bed, Wade is back at work, and I am finishing up the last batch of jam for the night, 17 quarts tonight and 9 quarts 2 nights ago, I think I am getting my yearly quota for strawberry jam built back up. Goodnight:-)

Strawberries

Tuesday night after Kyle's procedure we ended up at the ER because he was having some breathing problems, they never really figured out what the issue was but they got him on some oral steroids and that seemed to help. Today he is doing a lot better.
Yesterday the girls and I went strawberry picking at a local farm.
We had some fun "girl time" now we just need to find some time to make some jam:-)

Doing well

Kyle is in the PACU and is recovering well, he woke up pretty mad and needed a breathing treatment but he is doing better after some snuggles and a Popsicle. Now we are just hanging out watching cartoons making sure he does not have any more breathing issues.

His poor little hands are swollen but hopefully he will let me give him a good massage and wrap him when we get home. And we are praying his garments come very soon.
We are glad this test is behind us and are hoping they got clear pictures to see what his little system is doing. Thanks for the prayers.

Early Morning

Tomorrow morning we will be heading out bright and early to go downtown to the main campus of the hospital for Kyle to have his test to map his lymph system. This is a test that doctors have been talking about doing since he was diagnosed in November of 2012. We had to wait till he was 2 and his body was bigger, so they could get a better picture. And then we have also been waiting to get all the logistics of this test figured out. Kyle will need to have general analgesia during the 3 hour plus procedure, which is hard because we just went thru that a few weeks ago. And also this is not a test that they usually do on little kids like Kyle, so we got the run around with scheduling it for quite a while.
We would appreciate prayers for safety, comfort, wisdom for the doctors running the test and that they would get nice clear pictures of his lymphatics. And also for strength for all of us, it is hard on everyone watching him have to do this testing.
We will post updates tomorrow.
And on a happy note here are some pictures from when we had company a few weeks ago :-) Enjoy!
