Snow Forts

Josh has been wanting to build a snow fort all winter, so the other day Wade and him piled all the snow from the driveway up into one big pile and then tunneled in to it and made a snow fort. It is huge and the kids have had a blast playing in it.

Movie night
Tonight the kids and I checked Annie out from the library and had a movie aand lollipop night :-)
Later they moved to the floor.
This is what the living room looks like after the kids go to sleep
Good night :-)

Feeling better

Kyle woke up this morning doing better. We are still doing breathing treatments and we started the steroids last night but he is doing much better :-) he is eating, drinking and playing today which is a big improvement.

1 degree is cold

Today when the kids and I got in the car to take Kyle to the Pediatrician  it was 1 degree outside. That is cold! With the wind chill it is a whole lot colder too. Kyle had to go to the doctor this morning because he woke up and was having a hard time breathing. After a breathing treatment at the doctor and one more when we got home he is doing a little better. I am pretty sure we are going to be starting an oral steroid tonight but I think we are on the right track, that being said we would still love everyone to pray for him, he has also had very loose stools for over a week that we think are from antibiotics he was on a few weeks ago. His poor little bottom is sore and could really use a break from that :-( sometimes it feels like he just can not get a break.
The last day or so we have been getting snow. Delaney and Josh braved the cold and played out in it for a while yesterday.

Our snowy house, my car is a snowball

Lucy stayed warm in the house having some "tech time"
Delaney found icicles outside and brought them in to share with Lucy
It is fun to see my kids enjoying the little joys of different seasons that we did not have living on the oregon coast.

Burr it is cold out there!

What do you do when the wind chill makes it feel like it is -40?
You try cold weather science experimemts, we tossed boiling water outside to see it turn to snow, that experiment sort of worked, it made a lot of steam...
we also tryed to blow bubbles in the cold, but they kept popping
Josh played in his snow fort for a few mins.
Then I made them go inside and warm up by the fire
That night we made snow ice cream :-)
we even made Kyle some with his special milk, that is his best "cheese" face, he did not feel great that day
yum!
here is kyle feeling better :-)
Hope you are all having a great week, we are staying warm and enjoying the winter weather, we are thankful for a warm house, a good car and lots of warm clothes :-)

Life is busy!

Sorry the blog has been quiet for a bit, we have been busy. Since the beginning of the year we have had snow, really cold, and lately rain and 40's. The weather has kept us on our toes almost has much as our kids do (not quite :-) )
We has a cold bug go thru and get everyone a little different. Lucy had a bad cough that would keep her up at night and just would not go away that has thankfully gone away with antibiotics. Kyle started having the cough and got some high temps and just did not act like he felt very good but is doing lots better after a round of antibiotics. Josh had a few days of breathing troubles that I was thankful to have a nebulizer and albuteral on hand and he is doing lots better too. Delaney faired well but had some down days with everyone eles. But we made it thru and everyone is doing good and enjoying being back in the swing of school and life :-)
Kyle likes his lawnmower. It works for a snowblower and baby carriage :-)
