Saunders Village

Today we drove to Archbold Ohio and visited Saunders village. It was started by the man who started Saunders furniture, Erie Saunders. He wanted to educate families about the hard work and determination of their ancestors. It was fun to walk around the historic village and see artisans and talk to them.

Big Trucks and Science lessons

Last Saturday the city of Avon Lake had a "meet the big trucks" event that we attended. All the city's trucks and helicopters were out for the kids to climb in and learn about. The kids had a lot of fun.

The kids and I also went for a hike in the woods by our house last week for a little botany lesson. We did some leaf rubbings and tree identification.

The kids like to check out the little monnows and creatures in the creek

The leaves are starting to change, fall is in the air.

The Zoo part one

One day the kids and I decided we would take a field-trip to the Cleveland Metro-parks Zoo. We have been to a few zoos over the summer and enjoy going and seeing the animals. It was a hot muggy day, so that is why everyone looks wet :-)
Hello this is Travis the giraffe
Delaney got to feed a giraffe
Giraffes are Lucy's favorite, but she did not want to get close and feed it

The zoo had a dinosaur exhibit going on, it was similar to one we had seen in Portland

Camels
A snake tunnel (I have no idea why this is typing red and underlining and I have no way to fix it)
Kyle took a snooze at the zoo
Delaney and Josh got picked to help in the show, they were so excited....

Until they brought out the huge snake for them to hold, Josh touched it, Delaney ran back to me

Josh is really interested in turtles right now so he was excited to see them at the zoo
Lucy likes to pose
Hello
My girls in the rainforest, it is a big building that is pretty neat to walk around in
