A day at the zoo

We have had quite a week with some kind of medical appt every day and one day with a few. So today after Kyle's OT appt. I surprised the kids and took them to the zoo. It was hot and muggy but we had lots of fun walking around seeing all the animals.
Kyle's OT appt went well, so well  we only have to go back once next week! He got fitted for his garments Wednesday morning. So hopefully we will be getting him in them in the next 2-3 weeks. And his GI doctor called Thursday to tell me about his labs and ultrasound and he says he looks very stable. So we are very happy with that.
This is Kyle crashed out at the Zoo. He is so happy that the last few days we have left him unwrapped for 5-7 hours durning the day and he is doing well.
I have more pictures of the zoo but they are stuck on my camera and I can not find the right cord sooo those will have to come later, something to look forward to, right?

GI appt

So we had our GI appt. today and it went well, the doctor seems interested in learning more about Kyle and his condition. He is going to call his MD in Portland and get records of what we have done testing wise, and we are going to a dietician tomorrow, along with a abdominal ultrasound and some lab work  so we can get a baseline on where Kyle is at. We restarted his reflux meds so hopefully those will help with his sleep at night, (and ours also).  So now we just need all the fun insurance referrals to go thru and get everything covered so we don't have to start renting rooms :-)
Thanks for all the prayers.

What a weekend

Hello thank you all for your prayers, Kyle's hands are looking better little by little. We go see the GI today and I am soooo happy about that because Kyle and I were up most the night and he was acting so uncomfortable :-( now he is running around the house acting like a crazy man.
Here are some pictures from our weekend
Wade took the big kids to go see his station
And then go tour the USS cod, it is a sub that is next to the base.
Lucy and I painted while Kyle took a nap
And then we built a kitty condo for our new kitty
Here is the kitty his name is Scuttle
Then we had some silly time
With Kyle

He loves to say cheese for the camera.

We finished the weekend off with a bike ride and some time at the pool. It was a nice family weekend with Wade off. Now we are heading into our week that Kyle has an appt with someone everyday.

Pray for Kyle

Hi I don't have any super cute kid pictures to post today.  Just a plea to keep Kyle in your prayers.  His little hands still are fighting blister problems.  They are red and we are praying they heal and do not get infected. Also Kyle has been having a hard time sleeping at night and waking up crying and acting very uncomfortable I took him into the pediatrician yesterday and they said his ears were fine ( he finished antibiotics last week for a ear infection) but he thinks it is reflux from the extra fluid in his belly and he said he is glad we are getting in to the GI on Monday. Praying the gi has answers for us and. Plan on how to help Kyle. And also that we can get him in to get measured soon for his garments, we go to the OT tomorrow.  Thank you for all the prayers.
My biking buddy :-)

Peaches and school

Yesterday I did a little canning
75 pounds of peaches into jars to be exact
Then today was our first day back to school :-)
Lucy
Delaney
Josh
And Kyle was so excited This afternoon to have his wrapping off for a while he went and grabbed a nectarine or apple as he called it and ate it! He eats a lot better when he is not wrapped up, so we hope that we can get him fitted for garments soon. We go back to OT tomorrow and I hope we can get a plan nailed down. His skin is still getting little blisters but they are healing. So that is still a prayer request and a praise.
Kyle also got a haircut. Here is the before
And the after. What a handsome boy :-)

Look at those deer

This morning we went for a bike ride in our normal spot. We usually see some deer but this morning we saw tons! There were big bucks everywhere!

Fun times in Ohio :-)

Keeping busy

What have we been doing? Well we have been keeping busy, here is a little glimpse.
I have been wrapping little hands everyday, they are shrinking :-) we still need prayer for skin, he has little blisters on his fingers and we need his fingers to come down more, but his hands and arms look great.
Last Week we had a picnic at a local historic pier

We watched a boy try to reel in a big fish but it got away
A view of the city
Then we stopped at our favorite coffee place.  It's called Mojos.

Kyle driving a car across the coffee house.

It was a fun week. Lots of bike rides and hanging out. The weather was warm, but not to hot.
Missing you all, come out and visit soon!

Bike riding

Last night we went for a bike ride in the woods by our house. It was a nice evening not to hot, just right.
Kyle did not like his helmet, he kept taking it off
Delaney is all on her own this year. Kyle is in the trailer and Lucy is on the tag along.

After biking the kids had "band practice"
They are really cute. I think Kyle need a drum! :-)

Today we went blueberry picking about 30 min from our house
The girls wanted to dress up to pick berries
Josh picking one for the bucket two for the mouth
Kyle likes being fed berries
The people that own the bushes were amazed we could pick 12 pounds in an hour. They were a lot littler berries than we picked in Oregon, but they are still yummy :-)
Prayer request right now is for Kyle's skin. We are keeping him wrapped about 23 hours a day and it is hard on his skin. We are hoping this is going to help and we can get him in to some day garments but we need his very sensitive skin to hang in there because if not we will have to go backwards for a bit and let it heal.
Thanks :-)
