The song Worn, by Tenth Aveune North has had a lot of meaning in my life and it is so true as of late, if you have not heard it look it up on youtube and listen to it :-)
Kyle's appt increase came last month after his routine 3 month appt with his GI, he felt like beyond are normal labs he also wanted us to do stool studies, an abdominal ultrasound, see a genetics doctor, hopefully find a vascular doctor (none that we had found would see kids), and pursue getting some different vascular/lymphatic studies done. Also during this process Kyle was out growing his garments (it had been 4 months) and needed to get back in to the therapist to get orders from the doctor to get authorization from the insurance company to go to the garment fitter and get measured for new garments.(That last sentence reminded me of the story "the house that jack built") Anyway when I called his therapist she was going on maternity leave the next day....searched for new therapist.....found new therapist...had to get approval to see a child, blah blah blah, had to get insurance approval, blah blah blah, 6 weeks later we got into the therapist, she found us a vascular doctor who wanted to see Kyle and about 8 weeks after seeing the GI doctor we have had an abdominal ultrasound, seen a geneticist, had blood work done, got everything in line for garments, and today we even saw the vascular doctor and got measured for new garments.
Of course the geneticist wants Kyle to see a pediatric eye doctor that has written research papers on lymphedema, and the vascular doctor is still researching the lymphatic testing he would like to see done with Kyle, and we are also consulting a lymphatic malformations group on Monday that we have seen before that consists of 4 different specialist. But God is good and I see his hand in Kyle's care and the doctors that He has put in our life. I could write pages on different little "God moments " that we have seen in Kyle's care. Kyle is doing well, still amazing therapist at how well he can over come any "bump" that is put in his path. He smiles and waves and enjoys meeting new doctors and really looks forward to the stickers he gets after appointments.
His siblings are troopers as they sometimes have to sit thru long appointments a few times a week. So that is readers digest version on what is going on in the medical world of the Heath's.
Other than that we finished up our co-op year and the kids all did great reciting things at the end of the year program.
